as usual, this post is quite a bit late.
the following are from bob barrett's head painting class from the winter '11 (january-april, 2011) semester. since then, i've improved significantly. as artists, we're told it's a good thing to look back on a piece of work we once thought was good and dislike it, because it means we're progressing. so i just wanted to post these asap before i really despise them all. which may or may not be...really soon. hopefully.

You do amazing work! It was a great experience to be a part of one of them. I love your new one I saw last week too, and all of the awesome symbolism and awesome stuff in it. You are amazingly talented at what you do. Thank you for sharing this experience with me.

ReplyDeletei appreciate the work that goes into this--particularly getting the right light and dark tones for the shadows and highlights on the skin--after that day a few years ago when you took some time to explain to me why that one painting was so awesome.
and i was thinking that middle left one was of jenny. the color scheme in that one is my favorite.
