look, props! i'm in charge of creating estefan's salon chair. integrating spanish architectural style/structure of salon chairs/style of the film is a tricky machine, but i'm starting to figure it out.
true, i am in the lab right now, but i'm waiting for an occlusion pass to render (~30 minutes....) and "somehow" ended up here....
yes, concept art is seriously dang. like, dang. the stage of having general ideas and being able to stretch them in all sorts of directions like a drawesome rubber band is fascinating and the reason why i have several books of such things on my desk at home.
regarding the estefan! sketches above here, i really dig the very bottom signature. it looks a little more parisian than spanish (hmmm, kristin?) but very fun and stylish nonetheless. and i like the bottom-row middle water bottle. there're a couple there that i like, but that one has the flair that would be wielded by the world's greatest hairdresser. (so excited to see this movie....)
as for the chairs, i'm kind of partial to 3 and 4, although not passionately. still, the idea of melding spanish architecture (no, i did not forget how to spell that and have to look it up....) in salon furniture is pretty cool.
